Lesa A. Osborn
Lesa Osborn, a native of Gadsden, Alabama, has served as the director of Commercial Development Authority Board for 10 years. Osborn is a liaison between the city of Gadsden and the development community.
Prior to accepting the position of director, Osborn was the Marketing & Development Manager for the GCDA for one year.
She was the Vice President of Business Development & Research for The Chamber of Gadsden & Etowah County for five years where she directed and supervised development and research projects aimed at promoting and marketing The Chamber and Etowah County as a place of commerce.
Osborn also enjoyed a career in the banking industry with Compass Bank where she held the positions of Mortgage Banker, Personnel Banking Officer, and Banking Center Manager.
Osborn currently serves on the Land Bank Authority for the city of Gadsden. Also, she is a member of the Gadsden Kiwanis Club.
Osborn attended the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology where she received training in Economic Development Certification, the University of Georgia’s Georgia Institute for Organizational Management, and Gadsden State Community College where she received her degree in Banking and Finance.
Manager of Marketing and Development
Mary Wood, originally from Kentucky, moved to Gadsden in March 2013 to work with Gadsden Commercial Development Authority. Mary works alongside Lesa Osborn as a liaison between the City of Gadsden and the development community.
Prior to accepting the position with GCDA, Wood worked as a retail Manager for two years after completing an internship with the Walt Disney Company. Wood attended Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Kentucky and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communications.
GCDA offers a Facade and Sign Grant Incentive Program for eligible business owners located in the City of Gadsden’s TIFF Districts. Funds are provided on a matching basis with a maximum award of $2,250 for façade (exterior) work and $750.00 for signage. The building owner or tenant must receive approval from the GCDA before work commences in order to be eligible for grant funds.
